Look who's 10 today!

Despite me calling all the way from Moskau to sing a fat  little girl a happy birthday song, she still managed to say:

"WHY DIDN'T YOU WISH ME ON FACEBOOK!?"

"Erh, because I'm actually CALLING you?!"

"Thanks but GO WISH ME NOW ON FACEBOOK!"

Sigh just goes to show that technology might have slight detrimental effects on chubby innocent little girls. -.-Anyways, tonight my love goes out to this little brat on her 10th Birthday :) Welcome to the double-digit days! Just hang on tight and I'll be back soon enough for you to squash me under your big bumbum, ok?

AND NOW I'M WISHING YOU ON MY BLOG OKAY! YOU'D BETTER BE HAPPIER NAO NAO NAO!

xxox

Sorak shest

Dear Mummy,

There are many things I need to say to you but I think you'd understand me best when I say that my essential nature simply renders me speechless. It simply aches me to not be home this time of the year. No more scaring you and daddy with my supposedly reckless driving. No more fat kids to punch and bully around and no more Eddie to follow me around in hopes of scoring kitty snacks and a good old scratch. All  I have to fill the void right now is this space and our skype sessions - which we haven't been having a lot of. :(

For years I've grown, spending little time away from you (literally) and it just makes separation harder as the years go by and the thought of heading my own life without you to fall on really scares me.

As the years go by, your advices have changed, moulding itself to suit my current state of life though one thing stays the same: It is always because you love me. At times, it may seem like I disagree with some of them, but time has always proven that everything you say bear a significant amount of truth. Regret is the only thing I feel during the times my illogical pertinacity got the best of me.

The front I have always presented to you has always been one that is strong, independent and unbending. Its mostly for the girls and also the fact that you and daddy have always deemed me so. But the tears I shed at this very moment only goes to show that I am no far different from the average person and your expectations of me has only helped made me who I am today.

A quarter way in through my life expectancy, I am sad that the days we have are numbered. I regret the lack of appreciation and also all the time we've lost. I can't wait to be back for winter :)

Happy Birthday Mummy,

I love you :)

8 months

Yes. 8 months went by so fast I hardly had time to evaluate the things I have done this year. After 8 months, similar to the previous year, I find myself in this place where almost every night before I go to bed, thoughts about home and all of its marvel weave in and out of my lucidity leaving behind this feeling of strange yearning to be back home surrounded by things which are intimately familiar.

Things/Persons/Animals I cant wait to be reacquainted with :

Mummy, Daddy, Nini, Lily and Eddy
Nyehehe. Loving me is obligatory.

Food

 More food

 Friends
*ok too lazy to upload pics already.
 The beach!
House which needs to be repainted and redecorated
Resurrection of the EOS 500 collecting dust at home. Oh! Do you know where I can get expired films?
 Shopping!

Okay, I thought there were alot more and I know theres alot more but my memory is failing me right now. 49 days and counting. 49 49 49 49 49 49. That's exactly 7 more weeks.
I'm sorry to have wasted more of your time and I suggest we all go back to what we were doing previously. OR if you want to be good, STUDY. @sen

Idiots 2 and 3

Its that time of the year again, where almost every night before I go to bed, I cross out another day off my calendar - counting down the days till I will be back within the comforts of home. The nest we all go to rest, away from strife and stress.

Sigh. Another 98 nights without these monkeys :)

Back in Memory

With the spewing of tweets about the recent Swimming Gala held in CiLC, my mind couldn't help but wander back to 19, Jalan Setiabakti 1, Damansara Heights.

Dating spot with the fish satay uncle.

Reader, school is a milestone in my life I will definitely never ever forget. Embedded in just these two words, 'Sri Cempaka', brings back memories of hopes and dreams, laughter and tears, problems and answers. It reminds me of why as you get older, you begin to yearn for those days full of carefree laughs and unexpected surprises.

The place where I extort homework from people almost every morning.

High school marks the beginning of many ‘first time’ deals. Whether it may be the first time you put on braces, or perhaps the first time you ever got held back during lunch for Chem extra classes with Mr. Wong. School marks the first of many more firsts. For me, Cempaka marked many different things which subsequently resulted in the person I am proud to be right now.

Here, I discovered family and friendship. Friends make us laugh, help us enjoy human experiences and bring us solace and comfort in time of need.

 5ScOne with Mrs. Gale

Friends can be faithfully dependable, during those times in life when it appears there is no one that can be counted upon. Friends are priceless in a world where it often seems virtually everything has a cost attached to it.

Our batch may be small, with just over the 100 of us - but it is this lot that taught me tolerance, love, kindness and respect. In short, they brought out the best in me.

And unfortunately, also the worst -.- (we be cool yo)

It's funny how things that happen in our past shape the people that we ultimately become. There are so many things that happen that we never even think twice about until all of a sudden, out of no where it hits like a ton of bricks. Events that happened as far back as years and years ago can impact so much of our lives.

(Made that placard 4 years ago and I saw it again during my last visit to school!)

These early memories spur me on sometimes, when I look back and lament about how carefree life was when I was still in the early stages of the education system. Stress drags down spirits, but these memories of early school life help me regain my footing, refreshes my soul with confidence, and I can start afresh again.

 Sports Day '07

Three years later, I've come to realise that Cempaka prepared me for life, to stick out and not dog the footsteps of others.

High school. Truly is one of the most baffling points in adolescence - when you're starting high school you're happy, then you can't wait for it to be over; then when its over you miss everything about it.

Sigh :)

One Rainy Day

Dear Dad,

I have heard one too many times that there is a perfectly good reason why the past did not make it into the future. But a few nights ago, it decided to amble upon the present and pay us a brief visit.

One would think after 19 years, I would be able to differ likes from dislikes, and joy from pain. It humbles me to know that I am no further from where I began.

Dad, your mere presence resonates integrity, youth and strength. To picture you in a disposition, all frail and feeble is close to impossible but when reality fell hard on me, it became transparent.

Only then, I knew what pain is.

Well they say that everything was created in pairs. With this tribulation, fear and regret are starting to set in. What's our story, dad? You and I? 15 years down the road looking into the eyes of my children, I do not want to have to think twice about what to tell them if they were to ask about grandpa. This startling realisation dwelling in my mind this very moment about how little time we have till skin and bones, is a blessing. Praise God it came soon enough.

I have been sitting around collecting dust, disregarding all that you have done for us as a family. I have overlooked this man - the man who puts his family above the pursuit of success and worldly pleasures, the man who loves to crack my toes and tickle me to the core till my cheeks shine with tears, the man whose energy and humour is enough to brighten any rainy day.

-------

It appears to me that this is not the time to run through life with a fine toothed comb. Time is usually cure for most things like cuts, bruises and disappointment but as of now, I find that it is the bitter enemy.
