Lucky Charms

We keep it quiet, too often I think we might just disappear.
I see me hiding my face in my hand, talking about faraway lands.
So today, sadness found it hard to make it through.
This happiness we're feeling, no one understands.

Dear blog,
Words cannot convey how the past few days have made me immensely happy. Therefore, I am obligated to post up horrible pictures of lmk just for the fun of it! :)

I will make no mention of anniversaries, getting lost in the woods and expensive lunches in abandoned restaurants :) I will not make it known that the past two years has been nothing short of tears and heartbreak. But I will make it known however, that being with you has made me happier than I could've ever imagined.

Really :)

*p.s there were no pretty photos since he insisted on making stupid faces. pffft -.-

Six Blocks

When angered, hold back. Stand up against the urge to say things for the sole purpose of causing hurt and inflicting pain. Because once spoken, words hang in the air forever. They never disappear and they can never be taken back.

If there were a way to gauge my remorse in the gallons of anguish that pummel me, it would fill up four ponds, five lakes and a sea.

Forgive me.

Kids, listen up.

Never EVER go for an examination unprepared.

Sucks.

Big time.

Not unless you've got a very very adorable boyfriend who will take you to the zoo after that to cheer you up.

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

If I were given a dollar for every time I have heard this saying, I would be quite rich. Yes, it may sound romantic and there may even be some merit to it. But the reality is that absence creates an emotional longing which is filled only by fond memories and occasional phone calls. It can lead to emotional enlightenment and may contribute to strengthening bonds, but whether it makes the heart grow fonder or not depends upon the emotional maturity of the two people involved.

I however personally believe that absence makes the heart grow fonder because absence propagates negative emotions. This might seem a little backwards, but it seems quite true. These negative emotions lead to appreciation and reminiscence, which is also a little backwards. Fortunately, your negative emotions produce a positive consequence: you are able to better appreciate that person's presence, and you try to make the most of it.

So, despite the disagreements and altercations... I still yearn for more. And it doesn't feel all that bad :)

To whom it may concern,

Sorry? :)

Lets Nom :)

Comfort foods bring us warmth when Jack Frost rages outside our door, they wrap warm arms around us when we feel lonesome, they caress us when we're bruised and broken and they smile at us when our hearts are full of anguish. In reality, comfort foods don't really change the problems in our lives, but they do make them more bearable. Hehe :)

Surely ice cream is on everyone's list or warm chicken soup, or mashed potatoes or even bread and butter pudding. The list is defintely vast and there is certainly no clear cut list as to what food makes us comfortable.

For me, the food doesn't necessarily have to sate my hunger or even taste phenomenal. It simply has to make me feel better, ease my mind and give me the slight feeling that everything will be okay. Thats what I need sometimes, just a small amount of time to regroup my thoughts, the moment devoid of the weight of setbacks and to recall what is really important in my life.

Ok, am I asking too much out of food? Possibly. But then again, its pretty simple :)

Made Wat Tan Hor for lunch brunch today. The product of a leisurely Thursday morning.
"love love love :)"

Only you can define what food puts back the wind in your sails; only you know what taste is able to transport you to a better time, and what smell is able to waft you to a warmer place. It doesn't matter if its a digestive biscuit or a plate of nachos, if it makes you feel better, its comfort food :)
